| "Acento LatinoTV" was
created by Juan C.G. Miguez owner of JM Productions, a video production company
operating in the Vancouver and
Greater Vancouver area of British Columbia, CANADA .
Started as "Acento Latino" its first program aired on
the ROGERS Multicultural Channel on November 2, 1992. In its
beginnings Regina Cerna and María Julia Amestoy hosted the
programs, and from February 1994 Griselda Wrzesinski
together with Juan Carlos performed this task. There are also young
people involved in the presentation of videos as is shown every Wednesday on the world music program "Sabor
Musical" and on the variety magazine program "Sabor
Latino". "Acento LatinoTV" brought once a week Televisa's Sistema Informativo
ECO to keep our viewers informed of Latin-American and World News and has pioneered the
English in-house subtitling of International Serial Dramas that aired from 1995 to 2003 on the channel. In
1998 the name "Acento LatinoTV" was adopted to identify
it with the television media where it broadcasts. Afterwards the
channel became the SHAW Multicultural Channel as SHAW Cablesystems
took over the operation from ROGERS in exchange for SHAW Cable
operations in Ontario. We bring to our viewers the best Latin
Music Videos and the best of local and international latin
artists for their enjoyment and
finance our production costs thanks to the help of our sponsors,
